18 Oct Hit The Bid back in action at Newbury
Reach The Bid is Place to make a quick reappearance from the Dubai International Airport World Trophy at Newbury Following a luckless run at the Curragh.
Trainer Darren Bunyan has set a line through his stable star’s performance at the Group One Flying Five Stakes on Sunday, when he had been beaten at less than four lengths – and also reports the ready to go just six days later.
The Bid has been contributed an entry in Saturday’s Group Three dash by the County Kildare handler and has confirmed the intention is to run.
“He came out of the race ideal,” said Bunyan.
“It was only one of those days to draw a line through. Nothing worked out to him on the afternoon, but we’ve had days that were worse than that.
“He was not beaten too much for a horse that had nothing go his way on the afternoon .”
Hit The Bid has shown that he can operate well when kept occupied.
“There’s no issue with all the horse running quickly,” added Bunyan.
“He came back from the Abbaye last year and won the Group Three Mercury Stakes (at Dundalk) not long after.
“We’re still making strategies, and it looks like he’ll visit Newbury that Saturday now.
“The floor is in his favour . The weather forecast is quite good for the week, and he is 100 percent following the race.
“If all goes well on Saturday we’ll stick him at the Abbaye.”
Ger Lyons’s Blue Uluru is currently still a possible – while some in an 11-strong entry comprise Beverley Bullet scorer Judicial, Equilateral and current York Listed victor Dakota Gold, who took the Scarbrough Stakes last week.
