Houston Astros at New York Yankees MLB Pick – October 16th

We picked the low hanging fruit and caught two more wins to run our record through the playoffs to 18-5-1. They werent alluring selections, as both groups we endorsed were favorites, but this time of the year, with so few games on the program, you cant always find high-value underdogs like you can during the regular season with as many as many matches on the schedule. However wins are wins, and even cashed tickets have been cashed tickets.
On the road, we backed Gerrit Cole along with the Houston Astros in the early game. I just couldnt pass up on financing Gerrit Cole, since he has just been on a different level this season while I hated having to fade the Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the match. Cole has been 18-0 within the duration of his last starts and had struck double-digit guys in twenty five starts. And in the drama, he was even better as he fully obliterated the Tampa Bay Rays in 2 ALDS begins.
When you looked in the opposite side of the mound, you had a man after missing the entire year to a shoulder injury in Luis Severino who had pitched a small number of innings this year. So I believed the -149 lineup was significantly undervalued and did not have much of a choice.
Cole did exactly what everybody except Yankees fans knew he would as he had been once more unhittable. While hed struggle he walked five battershe ended with seven innings allowing no runs on four hits while striking out seven. The Astros was able to plate a few early runs and took advantage of Severino ancient, and the Astros held late to the big win. The Astros today recover the edge after losing game 2 in Houston, they dropped.
In the match , we picked up a win by financing the Washington Nationals and Patrick Corbin. This was just another no-brainer. The lineup has been historically bad from the first 3 matches of this show, combining for only two total runs. With strikeout master Corbin about the mound, I set the and believed that the Cards could have nothing for the Nats.
And after the Nationals jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first inning, I knew that I had made the ideal pick. With the huge early lead, Corbin moved to cruise control. Even though striking out twelve, it cost him though as hed give up four runs. For the first time in this show, the Cardinals eventually showed a heart.
However, as the game turned over with their bullpen that was dreadful, the rally ended right there, along with the Washington pen slammed the door shut. The Nats bullpen allowed just 1 hit and no runs and the win, the Nationals are headed for their first World Series at Franchise history.
More importantly, for Washington, they get to sit at home and break up for many times while waiting for the winner of the Astros and Yankee series, and set their starting pitching spinning. With just one of Scherzer, Strasburg, and Corbin, you cant count them off, although the Nats will be underdogs against either of those groups. For todays selection, well visit New York, where the Yankees and Astros play with game four of the ALCS.
The Houston Astros are in New York Wednesday for match four of the American League Championship Series. This series has been exciting so far, since the road teams have taken the last two games. Houston regained the string lead last night since they knocked off the Yankees in New York. New York will try and even things up tonight.
Starting for the Yankees is JA Happ (12-8 4.91 ERA), and for the Astros it is Jose Urquidy (2-1 3.95 ERA). The game total over-under is set in eight and a half runs. The Yankees are -128 home favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 5:08 PM PST in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
We have talked a lot pitching staff this past year. Theyve a trio of ace degree beginners together using Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander, and Zack Greinke. Nonetheless, he immediately got pounded, and it appears like Houston has learned his lesson in the ALDS if they began Justin Verlander on rest, as well as this game was lost by the Astros. Tonight, Houston will start Jose Urquidy instead of going to a man with no rest. They took a very long time to declare their starter and , because had they lost, that is likely, theyd have gone on brief break with Greinke.
Not a lot of people outside Houston do, if you dont know who Jose Urquidy is, then dont worry. Urquidy is a rookie who was a September call up and did not join the team until July, before being sent back down to the minors in August. After struggling in his first stint with the group, going 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA in five starts, he was much improved in September. Back in September he was 1-0 with 1.50 ERA in four starts. Hes never seen anything, while Urquidy was decent lately.
JA Happ is your veteran of the Yankees rotation. He does a decent job of giving his team a chance, although at this point in his profession, he is not going to shut down many teams. And at thirty-six years can you ask for? Back in September, Happ appeared great, which explains why he made the cut as the fourth rookie in this sequence. In five September starts, he went 1-0 with a 1.65 ERA.
The Yankees need to win tonightand I think that they will get a means. I dont trust Happ as much as I can throw him , but it seems just like throwing blood into a shark tank with Houston starting a rookie will experience like Jose Urquidy. Contrary to the first couple of games of the series where runs were difficult to find, I see this as a high scoring match. I feel Urquidy and Happ give runs up, and this may turn into a slugfest.
And there may not be a team in history that I prefer to back in a team that hit 306 home runs. Expect fireworks tonightbut if all the smoke clears, the Yankees will find a way. Give that the New York Yankees as home favorites tonight in game from Yankee Stadium to me!
